WHAT IS THE QUALITY OF LIFE RETREATS PROGRAM?

The Quality of Life Retreats program began in 1988.

Since then over 78 Retreats have been conducted.

The Retreat are a connecting and coping experience for persons living with HIV/AIDS. It is a chance to get away, to get together, to interact and to learn the techniques and attitudes that are effective in dealing with the issues of long-term survival.

The Retreats have four objectives

1. To provide a safe, living environment in which participants can be fully them selves, free of fears, and inhibitions, and can deal openly with their deepest concerns.
2. To offer spiritual, practical, educational and health resources to those whose lives have been, are and will be affected personally by HIV infection.
3. To listen to what HIV infected persons have to say about their journeys.
4. To offer and develop a viable model of how the religious community can make a compassionate and effective response to this crisis.

THE PROGRAM IS ECUMENICAL AND OPEN TO INDIVIDUALS OF ALL FAITHS,

RELIGHIONS AND BELIEFS.

Application Fee – is only $10.00

We only accept MONEY ORDERS

PLEASE COMPLETE AND MAIL ALL THREE (3) FORMS with your

Application Fee of $10.00 Money Order. ONLY

DO NOT SEND APPLICATIONS NO EARLIER THAN 3 MONTHS BEFORE A RETREAT; also we would like to have all applications one month before a Retreat begins.

WHEN ACCEPTED, YOU WILL RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION LETTER ABOUT 4 WEEKS IN THE MAIL.

THE LETTER WILL ALSO PROVIDE YOU WITH DIRECTIONS AND SUGGESTIONS, AND WHAT

PERSONAL ITEMS YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO BRING TO THE RETREAT.

Washington, D.C. Retreat House is operated by Sisters of the Franciscan Order

West River Retreat Center is off the Chesapeake Bay.

Manidokan Outdoor Ministries Center is on Maryland side of the Potomac River near Harpers Ferry W.V.
